How do I add to my calendar or request help?

Caregivers carry a mental load of schedules, tasks, and endless to-do lists. ianacare gives you one place to offload and organize it all, and to let your support team take things off your plate.

Create a request or calendar event

  1. Open the Tasks tab.
  2. Tap the + button in the top right corner (on the web app, tap + Coordinate Care).
  3. Choose a category: Meals, Rides, Errands, Check-in, Break, Child Care, Pet Care, Appointment, Medication Reminder, or Other Events. (On the web app some names are slightly longer: "Check-in / Visit", "Rest / Break", "Appointment Reminder".)
  4. Add a brief description, date, time, and any details (for a meal: how many people it's for, dietary restrictions, delivery address).
  5. Under "Request help from:" choose your whole team ("Entire team" on the web app), Specific people, or No One - It's for me (to just put it on your own calendar).

When you're done, your team is notified. When someone taps "I GOT THIS", you're notified and the event lands on both calendars.

If you just need a personal reminder, you can simply create a Simple Task instead: a lightweight event type that can be kept private or made visible to everyone on your team.

You can also get here through Care Tools: Coordinate Care is the first item in the list (Caregivers and care recipients: Tracker → View care tools; Organizers and supporters: right on your Home screen). It's the same feature, just a different starting point.

Tips for requesting help

People often want to help but don't know what to do. Specific asks make it easy to say yes:

  • The more specific the request, the more likely someone accepts it, and you won't get 10 meals one night and none when you need them.
  • You're not managing a bunch of one-on-one conversations; ianacare handles the coordination.
