What are the different ways I can communicate with my team in ianacare?

ianacare has two ways to keep in touch with your team: Updates and Direct Messages.

Updates

Post an update to keep everyone in the loop, all in one private place. It's a good spot to share things you might not post somewhere public like Facebook: an upcoming appointment, how a procedure went, or how you're feeling today.

  • Anyone on the team can post an update, including supporters.
  • Add a photo, emojis, or a helpful link to keep your team engaged (one photo per post for now).
  • Team members can comment and send hugs to show support.
  • Only the person who posted an update can edit or delete it. If your role changes (say, from caregiver to organizer), you won't be able to edit your own past updates; email help@ianacare.com and we'll help. We can also remove updates for someone who's since left the team.
  • Use your alert preferences to choose how you're notified about updates, comments, and hugs.

Direct Messages

Message one or more team members privately.

  • Add a photo or emojis, just like with updates.
  • Add more people to the conversation any time. Only existing team members can join; invite someone to the team first if they're not on it yet.
  • You'll always get notified when someone sends a direct message. Use your alert preferences to choose how.
